How to Apply for AHCCCS

Have you recently lost your health coverage?

If you have had recent changes to your employment or income, you may be eligible for AHCCCS (Medicaid) health insurance and financial assistance benefits.

What is AHCCCS, KidsCare, SNAP and TANF?

AHCCCS
Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System. Arizona’s Medicaid health insurance.
KidsCare
Arizona’s Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) for children under age 19 who are not eligible for AHCCCS insurance.
SNAP
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (formerly the Food Stamp Program). Arizona’s food and nutrition supports for families.
TANF
Temporary Assistance for Needy Families. Arizona’s cash assistance program.

Need to apply for AHCCCS, KidsCare, SNAP or TANF?

The same application can be used for all programs.
If your application is approved, you can choose which AHCCCS health plan you would like to cover your benefits. If you don’t select one, one will be chosen for you by AHCCCS. If you do not like the one chosen for you, you will have 90 days to switch to another AHCCCS health plan.
