COVID Cases Rising in AZ: Where to Get Vaccinated
August 12, 2024
COVID cases are climbing in Arizona right now.
There has been a 21% increase since last month with more than 64,000 cases statewide. That’s according to data from the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS).
Where to get a COVID vaccination
- Primary Care Provider: Make an appointment with your healthcare provider. The COVID shot is a covered benefit under AZ Blue health plans and should not have any associated out-of-pocket costs.
- Pharmacies: Call your local pharmacy to ensure they have the vaccine on hand and schedule a visit.
- Your county health department: Call and schedule a vaccine appointment. You can also check your county health department’s calendar for upcoming vaccine events.
- ADHS mobile vaccine program: ADHS just relaunched this program. If you or someone you love is homebound, you can schedule an at-home appointment. They'll come to you! Email healthequity@azdhs.gov or fill out this form to schedule: Mobile Clinic and Vaccine Education Request Portal (google.com).
And remember, respiratory season is right around the corner, so start thinking about the flu vaccine and RSV vaccine (for infants, some children, and certain older adults). Talk to your doctor about vaccines recommended for you.
